Train Transfers To and From St. Louis Lambert Airport

When arriving at St Louis International Airport, please make sure all personal luggage has been collected from the baggage claim area before proceeding to the chosen way of transferring from the airport. Transfer options that are available at the airport include rental cars, buses, taxis and light rail.

Light Rail Transfers at St. Louis Lambert Airport

One of the quickest and easiest ways to transfer from the airport is via MetroLink, the St Louis metropolitan region’s light rail system that connects the airport with downtown St Louis as well as with several municipalities in St Louis County in Missouri, and with St Clair and Monroe Counties in Illinois.

The MetroLink stretches 46 miles and has 37 stations and over two lines, Red and Blue. The Red Line is the one that serves the airport and both terminals have a MetroLink station.

The stations are named Lambert Airport Terminal 1 and Lambert Airport Terminal 2 and light rail trains depart from Terminal 1 two minutes before they depart from Terminal 2.

• The Terminal 1 station is located at Exit Door 1 on Ticketing level, east of the ticket counters
• The Terminal 2 station is located at Exit Door 12, through the Terminal 2 Parking Garage

Tickets are sold at the stations as well as through the MetroLink website where schedules are also found.

A one-way ticket costs around $3 and the journey to downtown St Louis will take approximately 35-40 minutes.

Amtrak in St Louis

St Louis Gateway Transportation Center is located on 430 South 15th and this is also where both Amtrak and Greyhound services are found.

Several Amtrak routes are available in St Louis.

St Louis Union Station

St Louis Union Station is no longer serving as a train station, even though at its opening in 1994 it was the largest station in the world. Today it is the home for the St Louis Aquarium.
