Flight Arrivals at St. Louis Lambert Airport

It is always useful to know where things are and where to go when arriving at a new airport. St Louis International Airport has two terminals and all international flights without preclearance arrive at Terminal 2.

Wheelchair Assistance is provided at the airport when requested through the airlines. Most airlines require at least 48 hours prior to the scheduled time of the traveler’s departing flight.

Smoking inside the airport is prohibited. Dedicated smoking areas can be found outside the terminals, at least 15 ft/4.5 m from any entrances.

Banking and currency exchange service at the airport are provided by US Bank, for US Bank Customers, although currency exchange service can be extended to those who are not an existing customer of US Bank. Dining at St. Louis Lambert Airport

Although most establishments at the airport are temporarily closed, both terminals have at least one establishment where visitors and travelers, arriving as well as departing, can have something to drink and something small to eat during the day.

Shopping at St. Louis Lambert Airport

Both terminals have a small selection of shops found on airside. On landside there are no open shops in Terminal 2, while Terminal 1 has a Hudson open during the days. Hudson sells books, healthy snacks, magazines, beauty aids, electronics and souvenirs.

Transfers at St. Louis Lambert Airport

Terminal Shuttles – St. Louis Lambert Airport provides free shuttles for transfer between the two terminals as well as the parking lots and the Bus Port. Shuttles depart from Exit Doors 12 outside both terminals.

Rental Cars – The car rental companies at St. Louis International Airport have their offices off-airport. Complimentary shuttles are provided to transfer their customers between the terminals and the companies’ facilities. Vehicles are returned to the company’s location. The shuttles depart from Exit 17 – Terminal 1 and Exit 12 – Terminal 2.

Buses – There are no local bus services at the airport, but Greyhound buses stop at the airport going to or from the Greyhound station in central St Louis. Buses depart from the Bus Port located near Terminal 1. The terminal shuttles go there and there is a tunnel from Terminal 1, outside exit 16 on the yellow level, going there. Hotel Shuttles – Hotel/Motel shuttles collect their guests outside Door 18 of Terminal 1 and outside Door 15 of Terminal 2. Toll free phone centers for Hotel/Motel calls are found near Doors 12, 17 and 18 on the lower level of Terminal 1’s baggage claim and near Door 1 on the lower level of Terminal 2. Taxis – Taxis are found outside Exit Door 14 to Garage Yellow Level in Terminal 1 and outside Exit Door 12 of Terminal 2. ADA accessible vehicles can be either pre-arranged or requested on-call at the terminal. The regular journey to St Louis will take around 35 minutes and cost around $50, depending on the traffic conditions at the time of the journey. Ride Shares – Ride Share companies Uber and Lyft are available at the airport. Transfers are requested through their company’s smartphone application or website. Customers are collected outside Exit Door 6 on the ticketing level of Terminal 1 and outside Exit Door 15 at Terminal 2.

Light Rail – MetroLink light rail system provides a connection between the airport and several municipalities in St Louis County and St Louis in Missouri as well as Monroe and St Clair Counties in Illinois.

MetroLink stations are found in both terminals. Take Exit Door 1 on ticketing level in Terminal 1 or Exit Door 12 through the parking garage in Terminal 2. Tickets are sold at the stations. Trains depart from Terminal 1 two minutes before they depart from Terminal 2. The journey to central St Louis takes approximately 35 minutes. Amtrak – St Louis Amtrak station is located at the Gateway Transportation Center in central St Louis where the Greyhound bus station is located as well.
